Summer is coming, and many travelers are already excited to sing, "feet in the sand, caipirinha, coconut water, a little beer." If you're one of those travelers looking for the perfect beach to enjoy the sun, the sea, and stock up on vitamin D, this post is for you! I've put together a list of the 10 best beaches in Europe for you to enjoy this summer! Hope you like it!
First, you need to know that European beaches are different from Brazilian beaches. For example, some beaches in Europe don't have sandy shores but rather pebbles. Also, while street vendors can be found on some beaches, it's not like in Brazil, where you can buy sunglasses, swimwear, sunscreen, speakers, empanadas, shrimp, brigadeiro, mate with lemon, etc.
Best beaches in Europe
Europe may not be as famous for its beaches, right? But there are indeed breathtaking destinations here, and in the following lines, I’ll show you some of them! Ready to check out my list of the best beaches in Europe?

Cala Goloritzé
One of the most beautiful beaches in Sardinia, though not very well known by foreign tourists.
Where is it? In Italy specifically in the Sardinia region. To get there, you’ll need to hike or take a boat. A great option if you're looking for a unique destination, it's about 475 km from Rome.
Porto Katsiki
This beach was once known as the "Goat Beach" because only goats could reach it! Fortunately, there is now a path for visitors. It's famous for being one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece!
Where is it? In Lefkada, Greece, 360 km from Athens.
Porto Santo beach
It was named "Best Beach in Europe 2022". Need I say more?
Where is it? On Madeira Island, Portugal. In addition to Porto Santo Beach, Madeira has other stunning beaches like Praia do Seixal. The island has an airport and can be easily reached by a 2-hour flight from Lisbon.

Cauco Beach
Locally known as Lovers' Beach, it is accessible only by boat.
Where is it? On the Amalfi Coast, Italy, one of the most beautiful and romantic regions in the country! My tip? Spend 5 to 6 days exploring Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Praiano, and Sorrento.
Bolonia beach
Of course, my best beaches in Europe list wouldn’t be complete without a beach from Spain!
Where is it? In Tarifa, Cádiz province. From here, you can visit many other beautiful beaches in both Spain and Portugal, as it's near the Algarve region.
Cavoli beach
Another Italian beach, but this one is hardly known! The sea has that perfect greenish-blue color, and the sandy area is small, so avoid going during peak season (July and August).
Where is it? On the Island of Elba, Italy, 235 km from Florence. A great idea is to combine this beach with a trip to Cinque Terre or Tuscany.
Navagio beach
Another Greek beach on the list! If you have a bigger budget, you can visit Santorini and Mykonos too. But be prepared, as these destinations are quite pricey!
Where is it? On Zakynthos Island, Greece, 325 km from Athens.

Santa Giulia beach
Known as the most beautiful beach in Corsica.
Where is it? Surprisingly, not in Italy but in France! It is located in southern France, near Nice and the Italian border.
Sveti Jakov beach
Croatia is home to some of the most stunning landscapes, which is why it made my top 10 best beaches in Europe.
Where is it? In Dubrovnik, Croatia, 600 km from Zagreb. The beaches here are famous for their lively parties, making it an ideal destination for a group of friends.
Platja de sa Boadella
A great choice for naturist beach lovers! But don’t worry, if that’s not your thing, there’s a section where you can wear clothes too.
Where is it? In Spain, specifically in Lloret del Mar, 75 km from Barcelona. Because of its proximity, you can also spend some time in Barcelona, which is super lively in the summer.
Algarve
To wrap up this best beaches in Europe list, I bring not just one beach but an entire region full of them! Unlike places like the Amalfi Coast or Greece, prices are more affordable here.
Where is it? Algarve is in southern Portugal, home to Faro, Albufeira, Portimão, and Lagos.
My tip? Spend at least 5 days exploring at a relaxed pace. If you rent a car, you can start from Lisbon and explore all the towns at your own pace.

Now, the hardest part will be choosing just one or two beaches from this best beaches in Europe list for your next trip! Tell me, which one do you want to visit? If you need more travel tips, check out the other blog posts, there’s lots of great content here!
Any questions? Leave them in the comments, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible!
